New advertising spot available at the HKCEC

A brand new LED Billboard has been launched at the HKCEC, serving as an alternative advertising solution for event organisers. The billboard is located at the arrival plaza outside the Harbour Road Entrance of the HKCEC, providing an excellent exposure to event attendees and visitors entering the doors of the Centre. 黃紹基:五招增會展業競爭力

香港珠石玉器金銀首飾業商會理事長黃紹基在東方專欄「名家筆陣」中表示,中美貿易糾紛令不少企業重整發展策略,如遷移或分散生產基地分散風險;也有順勢鞏固業務迎挑戰的。香港其實也應趁勢整固競爭力近年下降的經濟環節,去迎接未來更具挑戰的經濟,會議展覽業就是其中一項。 以展示商品去洽談訂單的展覽業難免受互聯網發展衝擊,若能透過網絡檢視全球商品的話,又何須付出高昂成本參加展覽會呢?從國際展覽會的參展商和參觀人數下跌便可見一斑,包括瑞士巴塞爾國際鐘錶展及一些國際消費品展覽會。 會展業是香港重要產業,去年因會議、展覽和獎勵旅遊訪港的旅客近200萬人次,運輸、貿易、物流、酒店、零售和飲食等行業都受惠外,還提供不少就業機會,提升香港在國際經濟舞台上的地位。 惟會展業持續發展的最大障礙是場地不足,沒有展期給新興展覽。因此,第一香港會展業要擴建場地,並要定期就場地與市場需求作檢討;二是朝專業化展覽發展;三是配合展覽會舉行與行業發展相關的會議;四是同期舉行市場和生產基地考察,甚至推出一展兩地;五是成立工作小組協調和規劃會展業的內容。 ...more

To raise the green awareness among exhibition industry and the general public, HML implemented various eco-friendly measures during Hong Kong Book Fair and Food Expo 2018. HML is introducing a new sustainability initiative ‘Think Before Plastic’ to cut plastic consumption at the HKCEC. Starting from 1 July 2018, plastic cutlery and straws consumption are replaced by non-plastic alternatives in all the HKCEC restaurant outlets, resulting in an expected drop of 1.6 million in total plastic consumption in a year.
