Cross-boundary private cars travelling between Hong Kong and Macao using Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Brid

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is the first direct cross-boundary land-based connection between Hong Kong and Macao. To facilitate economic and social exchange, as well as trade co-operation between the two cities, the Hong Kong and Macao governments have agreed to allow cross-boundary private cars to travel between Hong Kong and Macao using the HZMB. Qualified Hong Kong companies may apply for cross-boundary regular quota for Hong Kong private car for access to Macao. The number of regular quotas are set at 300, of which 150 are company quotas and another 150 are individual quotas. Company quotas are open for applications by companies registered in both Hong Kong and Macao, or companies registered in Hong Kong and associated with another company registered in Macao. These quotas are valid for three years and allocated by the Transport Department (TD). Hong Kong private cars allocated with valid quotas will be permitted with multiple entries to the city of Macao via the HZMB which is similar to the arrangement of Guangdong/ Hong Kong cross-boundary private cars. Interested parties may express their interests for regular quota to the TD in person, or by agent/ internet/ mail/ using drop-in box starting from 27 February 2018 (Tue). The submission period will close at 5:15pm of 13 March 2018 (Tue).
