Message from Chairman - HKECIA

On behalf of the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA), I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Marshall Cavendish Business Information (HK) Ltd on the publication of the latest Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Directory.

This annual directory is a valuable and practical tool to assist the convention and exhibition industry players and the business community at large in accessing information on Hong Kong’s MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) sector. HKECIA gives support to the production of the directory and we hope readers will find it informative and useful.

It is an exciting time for Hong Kong’s MICE sector as 2018 sees the long-awaited opening of major infrastructure projects, the XRL high-speed rail link with China and the Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macau Bridge. Both of these initiatives bolster Hong Kong’s already world class infrastructure and are anticipated to further boost business meetings and events to be held in the City. Ongoing Greater Bay Area initiatives are also likely to further enhance economic co-operation between the 9+2 cities and add further demand for conference and exhibition space and services. We hope that this publication will help all event organisers in the preparation and success of their events held in Hong Kong, the Trade Fair Capital of Asia. Hong Kong hosted 135 exhibitions in 2017, among which 87 were trade and trade and consumer exhibitions which attracted over 2.4 million visitors.

HKECIA has been playing an active and leading role in facilitating growth and innovation for the exhibition industry since its inception in 1990. Relentlessly, HKECIA will continue to thrive on our vision and mission to create relevant strategies and value for our members and all industry players in the MICE sector in Hong Kong.
